2023: Ibadan Mogajis Back Makinde’s 2nd Term Bid As Guber Campaign Begins


As gubernatorial election’s campagn began across the federation on Wednesday, the Ibadan family heads otherwise known as Mogajis yesterday thrown their weight behind the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde for his second term bid.

All the Ibadan family heads in a statement after an emergency meeting held at Olubadan Palace, Oja-Oba Ibadan said they decided to support the incumbent governor for his unprecedented achievements in the last four years.

According to the statement signed by their leaders, Mogaji Wale Oladoja, Mogaji Abass Oloko, Mogaji Ademola Olasomi, Mogaji Musibau Daada, Mogaji Rabiu Tijani, Mogaji Rasaki Adeyemo Molade, Mogaji Olukade, Mogaji Ile Onipe, Mogaji Ile Ojoemo, and Mogaji Ile Kosoko.

The statement reads; “Ibadan Mogajis given kudos to the Peoples governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, the state is rapidly developed under his administration. All the Ibadan Mogajis are giving their full supports for his second term to enable him complete the good jobs he embark on for the people of Oyo state.

“We the undermentioned Mogajis decided to support the incumbent governor of Oyo State. The decision was making in our meeting holding today 12 October, 2022 at Olubadan Palace Oja-Oba, Ibadan.

“The present administration under governor Seyi Makinde has constructed 56 model schools and completed renovation of 200 Primary Health Care Centres. In addition, the administration has ensure the existence of one functional PHC in each 351 electoral wards of the state.

“Some of these projects, included the 65b kilometres of Moniya-Ijaiye, Iseyin Road, the 76.7 kilometres in Ogbomosho, Fatope-Iseyin Road, the 35.85 kilometers Oyo road. Ibadan circular road named after Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja and new G.R.A named after the former governor Rashidi Ladoja. Lighting up Oyo State with the development of agric business.”
