In a Christmas message issued on Thursday, Chief Sanusi said the birth of Jesus Christ underscores the importance of compassion, humility and peaceful coexistence, values he noted are urgently needed in the country at this time.

He urged Christians to use the festive period to pray for the nation and to continue promoting peace and understanding across religious and ethnic lines, stressing that unity remains the foundation for sustainable development.

Chief Sanusi praised the role of the Christian community in fostering moral values and supporting social development through education, healthcare and charitable activities, adding that such contributions have continued to strengthen the nation’s social fabric.

He also called on Nigerians to support one another, particularly the less privileged, in the spirit of Christmas, noting that collective empathy and responsibility are essential for national progress.

“I felicitate with Christians across the country and in the diaspora, and I urge them to use this sacred period to pray for peace, unity and stability in our nation.”

“The message of Christmas calls on all of us, irrespective of faith or background, to embrace compassion, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.”

“Christians have continued to make significant contributions to national development, particularly in education, healthcare and humanitarian service, and this deserves commendation.”

“At a time when our nation faces social and economic challenges, the spirit of Christmas should inspire renewed commitment to kindness, dialogue and collective responsibility.”

“I encourage leaders at all levels to draw lessons from the season by prioritising inclusiveness, justice and the welfare of the people.”
