Okanlomo Oodua, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi Hosts Oloye Sunday Igboho, Commends Iru Ekun Security Operatives

The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has hosted Yoruba advocate and founder of the Iru Ekun Security Network, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on the security and socio-economic development of Yorubaland, particularly the need for stronger community participation in safeguarding lives, property, farms and rural communities.

Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi commended Chief Sunday Igboho and the members of the Iru Ekun Security Network for their commitment to community safety and their efforts to support the fight against kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities.

He particularly praised the courage, dedication and sacrifices of the Iru Ekun operatives who, according to him, have demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility in contributing to the protection of communities.

Sanusi stressed that security remains a collective responsibility, noting that community-based initiatives can complement the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, Department of State Services, NSCDC and other legally recognised security agencies.

He urged the Iru Ekun operatives to maintain discipline, professionalism and respect for the rule of law in the discharge of their responsibilities, while ensuring that their activities remain properly coordinated with relevant government security institutions.

The Okanlomo Oodua also called for greater collaboration among traditional institutions, community leaders, government and security agencies to create a safer environment for residents, farmers, businesses and investors across Yorubaland.

He expressed his appreciation to Chief Sunday Igboho for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, unity and sustainable development across the region.

The visit, he noted, further demonstrated the importance of dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in addressing contemporary security challenges confronting communities.
