Moniepoint Customers Can Now Check Eligibility for FG’s ₦50,000 Emergency Relief Support

Moniepoint Microfinance Bank has announced that its customers can now check their eligibility for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 emergency relief support through the bank’s Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) channel.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the financial institution disclosed that customers could access the eligibility-checking service by dialling *5573*27# from the phone numbers registered to their Moniepoint accounts.

According to the bank, customers who qualify for the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) will be guided through the necessary steps to accept the support and receive the funds directly into their Moniepoint accounts at no additional cost.

The intervention, spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is aimed at providing direct financial assistance to vulnerable households to cushion the impact of prevailing economic challenges and help beneficiaries meet their essential needs.

The development comes days after reports emerged that the Federal Government had commenced the disbursement of the ₦50,000 relief support to eligible Nigerians.

Moniepoint disclosed that it was among the financial service providers selected by the Federal Government to facilitate the payment of the intervention funds.

The bank clarified that beneficiary selection was entirely based on the government’s established eligibility criteria and verification procedures, which rely on verified national identity records and the National Social Register.

It further explained that the disbursement would be carried out in phases across the country, stressing that not all customers would qualify or be selected at the same time.

What Moniepoint Customers Need to Know

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Moniepoint Microfinance Bank, Babatunde Olofin, expressed the bank’s commitment to ensuring that eligible customers receive the government assistance conveniently and securely.

Olofin said the bank would leverage its technology and financial infrastructure to make the process accessible, seamless and secure for qualified beneficiaries.

He advised customers to use only the bank’s official USSD channel when checking their eligibility or accessing the relief funds.

The bank also emphasised that the process does not require any additional payment, extra documentation or third-party intervention.

Customers seeking further clarification or assistance were advised to contact Moniepoint’s customer service team or the NERSI helpdesk.

Moniepoint added that its extensive nationwide financial services network, including its Point-of-Sale (POS) infrastructure across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria, would support efforts to ensure wider access to the Federal Government’s relief intervention.

How to Check Your Eligibility:

  1. Dial *5573*27# using the phone number registered with your Moniepoint account.
  2. Select the option to check your eligibility for the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).
  3. If confirmed as eligible, follow the instructions provided to accept the support and receive the funds.

Important: Checking eligibility does not automatically guarantee selection. Beneficiaries must meet the Federal Government’s established requirements. Do not pay anyone or share your PIN or sensitive banking details with third parties.
