Fatal Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Highway Claims Two Lives, Leaves Three Injured

A tragic road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State resulted in the loss of two lives on Saturday. The incident, which occurred around 5:16 pm near Sandcrate, also left three individuals with varying degrees of injuries.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), a total of eight adults were involved in the crash, comprising four males and four females. Among them, one male and two female adults sustained injuries. Unfortunately, one male adult and one female adult lost their lives in the fatal accident.

The accident involved a Toyota bus with the registration number LND537XA. The primary factors believed to have contributed to the crash were a burst tire and the subsequent loss of control due to excessive speed.

The injured victims were promptly taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the FOS morgue in Ipara.

Expressing his concern, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun State, Anthony Uga, condemned the recklessness of drivers who fail to adhere to the prescribed speed limits. He extended his sympathies to the families affected by this unfortunate incident and urged passengers to report any errant drivers by utilizing the toll-free number 122.
