Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi has described his Merit Award at the Oyo @ 50 celebration as a renewed call to service, saying the recognition strengthened his commitment to the growth and development of Oyo State.

Sanusi, who was honoured during grand-finale of the golden jubilee marking 50 years of the creation of Oyo State, said he received the award with gratitude and humility.

“I am deeply honoured and grateful to have received a Merit Award at the Oyo @ 50 Celebration,” he said, noting that the recognition held special significance because it came at a defining moment in the state’s history.

“Being recognised as Oyo State marks this significant milestone means a great deal to me.”

He stressed that the award was not solely a personal achievement but a reflection of collective effort and support.

“This honour reflects not just my personal journey, but the support, guidance, and encouragement of the many people who have walked this path with me,” Sanusi said.

Describing Oyo State as his home, Sanusi underscored its heritage and potential, while acknowledging the responsibility that comes with contributing to its progress.

“Oyo is home, a place of rich history, resilience, and promise. To contribute in my own way to its growth and development has been both a privilege and a responsibility I do not take lightly.”

He expressed appreciation to the organisers of the Oyo @ 50 celebration and the leadership of the state for the recognition, while also commending those who promote unity and service.

“Thank you to the organisers of Oyo @ 50, the leadership of the state, and everyone who believes in the power of service, unity, and purposeful leadership,” Sanusi said.

Sanusi reaffirmed his resolve to continue serving the state and its people, adding that: “I remain committed to doing even more.”
