Fondly called Baba Ayalu, he was among the five courageous and revolutionary farmers behind the Agbekoya revolt of farmers in Ibadan and its environs, against government imposition of tax on poor farmers in the 60s.

Baba Ayalu who died at the age of 100, was a patriot of Yorubaland rising on several occasions to lend support for the protection and actualisation of Yorubaland.

He was the founding president of Yoruba Koya Movement before it metamorphosed into Yoruba Koya Leadership and Training Foundation, where he served as a patron.

Baba Ayalu lived a life full of struggle and spartan discipline.

In the meantime, he will be buried according to Muslim rites later today.
