In a recent development, the Oyo State High Court in Ogbomoso has ruled against the appointment of King Ghandi Olaoye as the Soun of Ogbomoso.
This decision came after concerns were raised about the selection process. The court order also halted Ghandi’s installation, which had already taken place on September 8, 2023.
The dispute arose when another contender for the throne, Laoye Kabir, questioned Ghandi’s suitability and pointed out discrepancies in the selection procedure. The court injunction further supported Kabir’s claims, leading to the decision to conduct a fresh selection process.
