BREAKING: Former Governor Ladoja Agrees to Wear Beaded Crown

Rashidi Ladoja, former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, has agreed to wear the beaded crown, marking a significant shift in his stance on the contentious issue.

Ladoja, who is next in line for the Olubadan throne, made this announcement during a live broadcast of the popular political programme, *Agbami Oselu*, on Fresh 105.9 FM, Sunday morning.

This decision comes as a surprise to many, as Ladoja had previously been a staunch opponent of the Olubadan chieftaincy reform initiated by the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

The reform, which included the elevation of high-ranking chiefs to wear beaded crowns, was a point of contention between Ladoja and the state government. He also opposed Governor Seyi Makinde’s decision to continue the process after initially condemning it.

Ladoja’s agreement to don the beaded crown signals a potential shift in the traditional landscape of Ibadanland, where the Olubadan stool remains one of the most revered positions.

This development is likely to stir considerable interest and debate within and beyond Oyo State.
