Dump ‘Crisis-ridden’ APC and Come Back Home—Hon. Okunlade Urges Alao-Akala up.

A former Majority Leader in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Okunlade on Tuesday, pleaded with an erstwhile Leader of People Democratic Party and a former Governor of the State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala to dump the crisis-dominated All Progressives Congress (APC) and come back home to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where his Political acumen and commitment would be appreciated.

Recall that many factional groups in the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress have faulted and opposed the decision of the Party to appoint Chief Alao-Akala as the Chairman of Elders Advisory Committee of the party after the meeting held at the Ibadan resident of Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.

In a Press statement on Tuesday, Okunlade who contested the House of Representatives election in Olorunsogo/Oorelope/Irepo Federal Constituency under the PDP in the 2019 election but lost, said that Alao-Akala would emerge as PDP natural leader if he could retrace his step to the party that gave him opportunity to be Deputy Governor and later Governor of the State between 2003 and 2011.

The Statement reads; “I am pleading to His Excellency to come back to the PDP.

“Alao-Akala should come back home and build his party. Nobody in PDP,  I repeat nobody in PDP can look at his eyes and say he is not a leader.

“It is very ridiculous for such to be in contention or be brought to the public domain.

“He can lead any party not only in the state even at the national level.

“Who among those trying to make an issue out of nothing can beat his record politically?

“My sincere advice to him is to come to his very own party and help to salvage it,” Okunlade added.
