Mai Buni, caretaker chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, may ask Akin Oke, caretaker chairman of the party to continue as party chairman.

Party sources, who begged for anonymity, said the decision is aimed at bringing peace to the party.

This was just as OYOINSIGHT.COM learnt that the party has fixed Thursday for an all-important stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Abuja.

This newspaper understands that trouble had started last Friday when Oke alleged falsification of delegates’ list ahead of last Saturday’s congress. Chairman of the congress, Gambo Lawan, who denied the allegation, went on with the congress. He mandated his secretary and three others to go with the exercise when it appeared those who held him hostage won’t allow him leave his hotel.

Before last Saturday, the party had also postponed the congress over falsification of congress documents.

Though Ajiboye Omodewu and others emerged as chairman and excos members, there have been accusations and counter accusations among camps within the state chapter of the party.

While the party members await action on the congress, the source told OYOINSIGHT.COM that in a bid to bring lasting peace, Oke would be asked to continue as chairman.

“This is to be the made the only option left by Abuja since it is clear all gladiators are bent on having their preferred choices in the excos.”

Though believed that the plan would douse tension, OYOINSIGHT.COM reliably gathered that Oke has already moved his personal belongings out of the Oke-Ado party secretariat as sources have it that “he has concluded plans to travel out of the country any moment from now for a deserved rest after about 11 years in the saddle. So, convincing him to remain in office would be difficult as ‘he is even tired of the system’.”
