Ibadan Bus Terminals to Be Completed 2nd Week in April – Oyo Govt.

The Oyo State government has announced that the multimillion Naira bus terminals located at Ojoo and Challenge Areas of Ibadan will be completed latest by the middle of April 2022.

The Commissioner for Public Works and Transportation, Professor Dahud Sangodoyin gave the assurance while paying an inspection visit to the stations on Wednesday.

Professor Sangodoyin who reiterated the commitment of the present administration to provide social amenities and infrastructural facilities in all the nooks and crannies of the State stated that the bus terminals are part of efforts to modernize the transportation system in Oyo State.

According to him, “the Ojoo facility is at 95% completion stage with features such as the ticketing booths, bank hall, waiting lounge, restaurant, relaxation spots, toilets, lift, pharmacy, detachable cubicles for the display of wares, and the Tower (Seyi Makinde Tower), to view the topology of certain areas in Ibadan. It also has two loading bays.

The Challenge bus terminal is also at 99% completion stage with features such as the ticketing booth, waiting lounge, lift, open restaurant, passengers seats already installed, security section and the loading bay.

“Work is progressing well according to the schedule at the two stations. We only look forward to a few things to be done by the Engineers such as cleaning, a few paintings, and we have been assured by the Engineers that everything will be completed on or before the 6th of April, 2022.”
