A former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo State has berated the security strategy of Governor Seyi Makinde saying Oyo state is missing Late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

He said this on BOTTOM LINE, a Political Programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan host by Aanuoluwapo Omorinde on Saturday.

According to him, “Ajimobi transformed Oyo state. He gave the state his best. Throughout his eight years tenure, there was no single bank robbery in Oyo state but what do we have today?”.

Justifying his claim, he said he was a victim of brigandage in Ibadan few days back. “Some hoodlums extorted me in broad day light on Wednesday on my way to the Court”.

On the State of security in Nigeria, he described President Buhari as a faillure.

He said “Personally, President Muhammadu Buhari has dissappointed me. He is a retired General for crying out loud. He should resign”.

Bayo Ojo esq. also revealed that his late Principal prefered Engineer Joseph Tegbe to succeed him but that he had to succumb to wish of his party in the build up to the 2019 governorshil election which the All Progressives Congress eventually lost to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Reacting to insinuations in some quarters that late Abiola Ajimobi did not wholeheartedly support the candidacy of Adebayo Adelabu, the erudite Lawyer said “it is most uncharitable for anyone to say Ajimobi did not not work for Adelabu”.

The former Commissioner for Justice who described Oyo State and most especially Ibadan as “rumour factory” recalled the role played by the late former Governor.

In his words “I was actively involved in that campaign and I can tell you Ajimobi did his best. We started the campaign at Egbeda and there, Ajimobi raised Adelabu’s hand up. We were at Oke-Ogun and everywhere too”.

On whether the visit of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to Chief Adebayo Adelabu is a pointer to where the pendulum will swing in 2023, he described it as mere insinuation stressing that he does not react to such.

When asked who he thinks should clinch the APC ticket in 2023, he stated that “2023 is still far. We have eminent and qualified people who seems to have interest. When the t’ime comes, the party will decide”.
