Makinde Orders Perm Secs, Tutor-Generals, Others To Undertake Promotion Exam Henceforth (SEE CIRCULAR)


As part of effort of the government of Oyo state to further deepen the culture of merit based promotion and reward for labour, the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has directed all state ministries permanent secretary hopefuls to henceforth undertake competency test to emerge.

Sunrisebulletin.com gathered that the present administration under Seyi Makinde has prioritized merit based reward and opportunities from inception of this government which has been evident in the deployment of computer based tests for all state government employments and promotions.

An Oyo state government circular signed by the Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, F. N. Oladeinde on Thursday November 4 and made available to newsmen indicated that plans are already concluded by the state government to resuscitate the culture of subjecting civil servants on grade level 16 and 17 to undergo an examination before getting promoted to the rank of a permanent secretary.

This, Sunrisebulletin gathered, will foster the culture of hardwork and commitment to public service as well as promote the culture of merit based reward to dedicated and committed civil servants.

According to the circular, Tutor-generals, Heads of Non-miniaterial agencies will also undertake the examination.

“I wish to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, has directed that henceforth, the conduct of examinations for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries, Tutor-Generals, and Heads of Non-Miniaterial Agencies be resuscitated.

“Consequent upon this, you are hereby directed all officers on salary Grade Level 16 and 17 in your ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) who are interested to be prepared for the examination that will be coming up before the end of the month of November, 2021.

“Further details on the examination will be communicated to you in due course.” The circular reads.
