Makinde Pledges Support to Army, …Calls for More Manpower
In his bid to secure lives and property, Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Monday, pledged his unwavering support to the men and officers of the Nigerian Army for more productivity.
Makinde made the pledge while receiving the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya and his entourage on a Courtesy- visit, to his office in Ibadan, the Oyo state’s capital.
The Governor also confirmed the security challenges the state and the country at large is experiencing but pleaded for adequate manpower to protect lives and property in the state.
Earlier in his address, General Yahaya, confirmed the level of insecurity in the country, but noted that insecurity requires forecasting and proactiveness to detect impending unrest against loss of lives and property.
Lieutenant-General Farouk Yahaya equally appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde, for upgrading facilities in the Nigerian-Army barracks, Odogbo, and solicited for more infrastructural upgrades for optimum performance of men and officers of the Nigerian Army.
