Makinde Reacts To Idi-Ape Bullion Van Robbery, Say’s Some Pills Are Hard To Swallow, Condoles with Families of Victims
The Executive Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde has reacted to the unfortunate news of the Robbery attack, earlier at Idi-Ape Ibadan.
I got the sad news of the robbery attack at the Idi-Ape axis of Ibadan which resulted in deaths and injuries to residents of Ibadan. I pray that the souls of the dead rest in peace.
I am going to make this newsletter very brief in honour of those who lost their lives today. I ask that we keep their families in our prayers.
Some pills are hard to swallow. And when something like this happens, we wonder if there is anything more that could have been done. We again take a look at our security architecture and see what failed and why.
I can assure you that we are already doing that. The security agencies are all working collaboratively on it.
We are grateful to those who called 615 to report the incident. We will continue to improve our response times using the apparatus available to us at the state level.
The truth about security is that no one is happy even with 99/100. That one score would make the 99 things that you did right appear wrong. But I will continue to ask the good people of Oyo State to keep the faith. We are on top of the situation and will continue to adjust our strategies to meet the growing sophistication of the men of the underworld.
