Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Monday, presided over the swearing-in of the newly appointed President of the state Customary Court of Appeal, Honorable Justice Mashud Akintunde Abass.
The brief event held at the executive council chamber of the governor’s office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, had in attendance the deputy governor of Oyo state, engineer Rauf Olaniyan; secretary to the state government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun; the chief judge of Oyo state, Justice Munta Abimbola, legal luminaries and other punching arms of the judiciary.
In his speech, shortly after the swearing-in of the newly appointed President of the state Customary Court of Appeal, Honorable Justice Mashud Akintunde Abass, Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, charged the new head of the state Customary Court of Appeal to make the administration of Criminal Justice Law more effective in the state.
As of the time of filing this report, the ten newly appointed and returning commissioners screen and approved by the state house of assembly have arrived at the governor’s office for their inauguration.
