A 400-level student of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Oluwatobi Ogunmola, who was declared missing a few days ago, has been found dead.

A campus source told our correspondent that his body was found hanging in a bush at Gambari, Ogbomoso, in the Surulere Local Government Area of the state.

Ogunmola, a student of the Physics Department of the school, was said to also be a mobile phone technician and solar system consultant

One of his Facebook friends, Adeleke Ayoade, while condoling with his family, wrote, “In times like this, we sympathise with the family of Ogunmola Taiwo on the death of their son, who was found dead. The death came as a shock to everyone especially the people of Gambari in Ogbomoso. Very calm and reserved brother. We pray God to console the family and rest the soul of the deceased.”

The Public Relations Officer of LAUTECH, Lekan Fabiyi, said he could not say anything until the victim’s studentship was confirmed.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, said, “The matter was not reported at any of our divisions either as a missing person or discovery of a corpse.”

However, the President of the LAUTECH Students Union Government, Anuoluwapo Adeboye, described the death as shocking.

“At the moment, we are devastated and full of sorrow about this horrible news. We mourn and sympathise with the family of the deceased and pray the good Lord to grant them fortitude to bear the loss.

“We also appeal to all security operatives in the state, especially in Ogbomoso, to beef up security in LAUTECH and its host community, Ogbomoso,” Adeboye added.
