Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, has yielded to the pressure from fellow High Chiefs and prominent figures of Ibadanland, ultimately ending the discord with members of the Olubadan Advisory Council, led by Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator Lekan Balogun.
Senator Ladoja, in a symbolic gesture, arrived at Oba Balogun’s Alarere residence at 11:48 a.m. for the Advisory Council meeting, driving his black Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep with registration number BDJ 123 AS.
Sources revealed that Senator Ladoja’s attendance was the result of a series of deliberations with fellow High Chiefs who viewed his absence from the Council meetings as a hindrance to Ibadanland’s progress.
The High Chiefs argued that the time had come to unite for the greater good of Ibadanland.
During one of these meetings, Senator Ladoja, as recounted by one of his aides, raised concerns about the ongoing litigation at the High Court, saying, “You people have taken me to court, and you still want me to sit down with you while the case is still pending.”
However, the Chiefs firmly insisted on his participation in the meeting.
Present at the gathering were prominent figures like Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehim, Otun Balogun, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola Abimbola, Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole, Osi Balogun, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, Asipa Balogun, Oba Kolawoke Adegbola, Asipa Olubadan, Oba Biodun Kola Daisi, Ekerin Balogun, Oba John Isioye Dada, Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Amidu Ajibade, Ekaarun Balogun, Oba Abiodun Agadagudu, and Ekaarun Olubadan Oba Akande.
At the time of this report, the meeting was ongoing.
It’s worth noting that Senator Ladoja had not attended any Council meetings since the installation of the nine High Chiefs of Ibadanland as Obas. Additionally, the newly installed Obas had maintained their stance against High Chief Ladoja’s attendance at their meetings.
