A Chieftain of the Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ismaila Ashipa has express his opinion on how Deputy governors are treated in the state.

Baba Ashipa as he his foundly call draw his reasons down to the immediate past deputy Governor, Moses Alake Adeyemo who also hails from Oke-ogun, the North Senatorial District in the state, While advising them, that rather than aiming for the seat of Deputy Governor come 2023 it’s high time they throw their best Candidates to the ring and aim higher.

Baba Ismaila Ashipa who is known for being blunt and fearless when voicing his opinions on Political issues in state made this revelation on his personal Facebook handle.

Below are the exact words curled from his Facebook wall…..

“With due respect to the sensibilities of all my brothers and sisters from Oke-Ogun of Oyo state, forgive me for stating this fact”.

“If I were from any part of Oke-Ogun, I would never advise any of my brothers and sisters in politics to contest for the office of DEPUTY GOVERNOR. Here in Oyo state, Governors see their Deputies as USELESS EXTRA TYRES. Most Governors, when out of office, prefer to handover to their Chief of Staffs”.

“The Alake and Olaniyan evil experiences are enough to discourage anyone from Oke-Ogun to seek that accused office again”.

“In fact, if I had my way, I would beg all citizens of Oyo state, irrespective of political parties, to protest against the Deputy Office. If it is possible for a governor to contest without a Deputy, we shall see”.

“Therefore, let my Oke-Ogun brothers and sisters interested in seeking elective office in 2023 to apply for
Governorship, Oyo North Senate, House of Reps
and House of Assembly
Or you may wait for sumptuous Ministerial, Boards or State Commissioner appointments”.

“Never the Office of the
DEPUTY GOVERNOR”, Ashipa advises
