Oyo Commissioner For Education, Prof Salihu Adelabu Receives Poly Ibadan Management, Pledges To Support Technology Driven Education
The newly appointed Honourable Commissioner for Education in Oyo State, Professor Salihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu yesterday (10/8/2023 )received the Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan with a pledge to do everything humanly possible to promote and support technology driven education in the state.
Professor Adelabu who received The Polytechnic Management led by the Rector, Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi in his office observed that technology is the main ingredient required to develop any nation.
He promised to use technology to drive education in the state, noting that with this, a solid foundation will be laid for technological advancement of oyo state and indeed Nigeria.
He said in the advanced Countries, technological education is given preference in the drive for technology advancement.
He charged the Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan to rise up to the challenges of technology development of the nation, adding that the government will always give support to the institution’s technological drive.
In the same vein, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Sanjo Adeniyi charged the Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan to continue to sustain the image of the Institution as its name is a household one beyond the borders of this country and nothing should be done to negate the hard earned image of the Institution.
Earlier the Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi had congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment, pointing out that the Commissioner’s antecedents and credentials are enviable.
He assured the Commissioner of the cooperation of the Management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan in his drive to lift education in the State to an enviable standard.
