The Oyo State government is set to transit the Light-Up project from primary fuse source to the originally scoped Tribid system, in a bid to make it more available, consistent and effective across the state.

The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Hon. Seun Ashamu revealed this after inspection of the ongoing routine corrective maintenance of broken poles for the availability of street light.

Ashamu further noted that as a result of common challenges confronting the country, the primary fuse which uses diesel as its source of energy was purposely used for the actualisation of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde’s led administration priority of getting the light on to reduce the crime rate across the state, as well as make the environment more conducive.

He added that the state wide project will henceforth transit to its original scoped system , the Tribid system comprises grid, inverter, gas generator for support as agreed with the developer.

Ashamu therefore appealed to the public to see themselves as the co-ownership of the project and urged the people of Oyo State to report pole fall either by technical fault, a reckless driver or vandals on 0700444999.
