The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has begun the collation of results from the recently concluded local government elections across the state. As the process unfolds, several local government areas have reported their preliminary results, providing a glimpse into the electoral landscape.
In Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Dr. Samuel Akanbi, the Returning Officer, announced the results, with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) emerging victorious with 9,011 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 854 votes. Similarly, in Olorunsogo LGA, Mr. Olanrewaju Babatunde declared the PDP as the winner with 8,501 votes, surpassing the APC, which received 3,002 votes.
The trend continued in Ibarapa East Local Government, where Dr. Gbenga Adedokun announced the PDP as the clear winner with an impressive 13,896 votes, leaving the APC trailing with 1,606 votes. These initial results reflect the diverse political landscape and the varying preferences of voters across different local government areas in Oyo State.
