Oyo North Senatorial District: Sunday Dare May Resign, Battle Ready For Ticket With Fatai Buhari If He Stays

The Honorable Minister for Youth and Sport, Hon Sunday Dare is set to resign and contest the Oyo North Senatorial Ticket source Confirm to Akéde Ọ̀yọ́.

The speculation which lasted for months is about to come to reality, various quarters has rumoured him contesting for Governor under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Ogbomoso born politician has integrated himself very well ever since he became the minister for Youth and Sport in the party, with an his enviable position.

Source further confirm to Akéde Ọ̀yọ́ that the Honorable Minister has been pressured to drop his gubernatorial ambition for senatorial, to allow an Ibadan man battle with the incumbent governor Seyi Makinde who is certain to fly the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the second time.

APC has announced that the sale of forms closes on Friday the 6th of May, having this in mind, there are no room for too much delay on decision making.

If Sunday Dare officially announced his senatorial bid, this will set him up against the incumbent and a two term Senator Fatai Buhari.

This might be a pointer to why senator Fatai Buhari is rumoured to be having discussion with the camp of Governor Seyi Makinde over possible decamping to the People’s Democratic Party.

If the above pressure on Hon Sunday Dare to drop his gubernatorial ambition is real, the hopes of Prof Adeolu Akande contesting or Cliching the ticket near never.

The Next 72hours promise to be an intriguing one for the camp of the APC as many political decisions will unfold, no doubt there might be possible decampees who won’t be comfortable with the political signal that will unfold over the next 48hours.
