Oyo Police Commence Manhunt For Kidnappers Of Ibadan Couple

Oyo state Police command said it has confirmed the kidnap of a couple living at Sanyo area of Ibadan, saying that the command has started immediate manhunt into revealing the culprits and releasing the abductees.

Confirming this to newsmen in Ibadan, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo state Police Command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, said: “A couple was abducted at Alabameji Village, Sanyo Area yesterday, March 29, 2021 at around 2:20pm in their farmland.

“The DPO and team immediately razed to the scene for on-the-spot assessment. Investigations have commenced and on the trail of the hoodlums to arrest them and equally released the abductee.”
According to reports, gun wielding men abducted three persons in Oluyole Local Government Area of Ibadan.

The trio, who were kidnapped at two different locations within the Local government, included a farmer and a couple who are also into farming business.

This came two weeks after the abduction of about four persons in the same local government area. Recall that about four people, including two bankers, were kidnapped on the Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan Road a few days ago.

Sources in the area confirmed that the couple were abducted from their farm located at Alabameji Village, Sanyo area, while another man who is also a farmer was abducted at Soka area.

As the time of filing this reports, the whereabouts of the three people kidnapped have not been ascertained and no contact have been made to the families of the abductees regarding ransom.
