Oyo Police Invite Four Over Threat to Burn Bank, Disrupt Peace in Iseyin

The Iseyin Police Division of the Oyo State Police Command has invited four men in the community over a Facebook post, threatening to attack a commercial bank.

The invitees were traced through their Facebook accounts and invited by the Police on Monday, however, the Divisional Police Officer has instructed them to be reporting to the station everyday till the end of the general elections.

A reputable online newspaper gathered that one of the police invitees posted the picture of the commercial bank, enlisting others to join him to attack the bank by Thursday.

A police source said the suspects were asked to write an undertaking to assure the police that if any crisis breaks within the community, they would be taken as the culprits.

Meanwhile, efforts have been on to engage the youths in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, especially Iseyin not to see protests as the solution to the national issues, as most public infrastructures damaged during the last #EndSARS protest were still in the process of reconstruction.

In the meantime, the National President of Oke-Ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF), Barrister Ahmed Raji in a statement released to newsmen on Monday, urged royal fathers and community leaders in the Oke-Ogun region to engage the youths in their domains to eschew violence in the face of the cash swap and cash withdrawal limit policies put in place by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
