Following the declaration by Governor Seyi Makinde to seek a second term mandate from the people of Oyo State, the power sharing formula of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been revealed.
GOAL POACHER NEWS gathered that Oke Ogun Zone which has ten local governments and falls under Oyo North Senatorial district will retain the deputy governorship slot. Governor Seyi Makinde will decide if he wants to retain his deputy, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan who is from Igboho in Oorelope local government or another person from Saki.
In the power equation, the Oyo North Senatorial District ticket has been zoned to the three local governments from Ogbomoso Zone. Ogbomoso has five local governments. Two (Ogooluwa and Suurulere) are within Oyo Central Senatorial District. While Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire are within Oyo North Senatorial District.
According to information emanating from the power brokers in the Oyo PDP, barring any last minute change, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole popular called ‘Wolekanle’ a grassroot politician, entrepreneur, a former secretary Ogbomoso North LG, CEO, AA luxury Suites Ogbomoso, Chairman Ajilete Carnival Concept, Founder Ogbomoso United Football Club has been unanimously endorsed as the consensus candidate.
All the names consensus candidates ranging from Oyo Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate will be announced any moment.
