REVEALED: How Oyo Governor Intends To ‘Boycott’ Deputy’s Daughter Wedding

The sour relationship between Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, and his deputy, Raufu Olaniyan, is worsening.

From this afternoon, Olaniyan’s daughter will be joined with his husband at a Nikkah fixed for Ibadan, the state capital.

Makinde will not be in attendance as the weekly Excos meeting, which usually holds on Tuesdays, has been fixed for 3 pm Friday evening, the same time the Nikkah will start.

Tomorrow, when the wedding Fatiha will be conducted, Makinde and other top government officials, especially those of Okeogun extraction where Olaniyan hails from, would be in Iseyin, to turn the sod of the campus of the Ladoke Akintola University, LAUTECH, in the ancient town. The Iseyin programme will start at 12 noon, the same time the wedding event will commence in Ibadan.

Information commissioner and chief press secretary, Wasiu Olatubosun and Taiwo Adisa, were not available for comments as calls put through to their numbers were not picked.

A top government official, who did not want name in print as he was not authorized to speak, said that there is no big in fixing Excos meeting for Friday evening. “There is no law that says Excos meeting cannot be done any day. Because it is done on Tuesdays doesn’t mean it cannot be done on other day. If there is any important thing to be done, they can call for meeting.”

Only recently, a popular online newspaper had reported attempt to remove the deputy governor. It was later debunked.

Below is the purported statement inviting people for tomorrow’s event in Iseyin.
