Slain Police Children Beg Makinde For Scholarships

Some children of the policemen killed by hoodlums during the #ENDSARS protests in Oyo State have appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde for scholarships to continue with their education.

The children said they had been withdrawn from their schools by their mothers because they could not longer afford to pay school fees.

Recall that five policemen were killed by some hoodlums and weapons stolen from burnt police stations during the protest in October 2020.

The slain cops were identified as James Akanmu, Rotimi Oladele, Adegoke Ajibola, Alidu Wada and Peter Agunbiade.

Speaking on behalf of the children of the victims in Ibadan on Wednesday, 12-year-old Kehinde Agunbiade, said, “I am begging Governor Seyi Makinde to please consider our future as very important. We don’t need cash but we need education.

“Since our fathers were killed, it has been very hard for our mothers to feed us let alone send us to school. My father was running his Master’s programme when he met his untimely death. He told us that he was going to give us education to Master’s level before we all get married.”

One of the windows of the slain policemen, Feranmi, Oladele, also appealed to the governor to assist them.
