“On security, We have seen a lot of improvements because of what we did at the local government level, the security committees and of course, we are releasing resources at the local level. Every four weeks, we are releasing N330 million.

“But we have been monitoring the utilization and this is where I am coming to the local government chairmen, I have been having reports, some of you are doing very well, you’re carrying the stakeholders along as we have instructed but some of you are not especially those of you in Ibadan.

” Well, I have told your leaders, if they don’t tell you the truth, few things will happen. I have seen people from LG chairmen to become governors. Also look around you, you would see past chairmen in which that position was the height they ever got to and couldn’t move ahead to higher positions. You have taken your own position, you must carry your traditional rulers along. You have leaders and elders in your local governments.

“If you don’t do what you are supposed to do, the people of Oyo State will send all of us out and if you think you have three years, it’s a joke, I dissolved the ex-chairmen on the podium as I was being sworn-in, I said you people, you are no longer local government chairmen anymore. We are in court, this is the third year of our administration, you too will go to court, they will send you out.

“You are fighting with your assembly people, they are not competing with you, you have been elected by the people in your various local government, do the work. Cooperate with your traditional rulers, cooperate with your assembly people and then, Oyo state people can get dividends of democracy.

“Most of these things have their implications for the security situation that we have in Oyo state. If you’re doing well in your localities, then, we will do well statewide.”
