The Polytechnic Ibadan Direct Student’s To Resume, Say’s Exams Starts October 12th, 2020.

The management of the Polytechnic, Ibadan released an updated calendar of resumption following the approval of reopening of tertiary institution by the Oyo State government from Monday, 28th September 2020.

The abridged calendar for the 2019/2020 academic session is scheduled in batches as terminal classes (HND 2 and ND 2) of Faculty of Environmental Studies and Faculty of Business and Communication Studies will be taking the lead as the institution resumes on the 5th October 2020. The first semester examination will also follow the next week dated 12th to 23rd October 2020.


Subsequently, HND 2 and ND 2 of other faculties ( FENG,FSC AND FFMS) will also resume academics after the completion of FES and FBCS examination,dated 26th October 2020.


ND 1 and HND 1 of FES AND FBCS, ND 1 and HND 1 of FENG,FSC and FFMS are also stated to resume on the 16th November and 7th December respectively. First semester examination of their formation classes also starts a week after the resumption.

While Press Council correspondent consulted through a text message the Dean, FBCS in person of Dr.Mrs Akinola, she confirmed the abridged calendar. “Yes, it’s true but just the HND 2 and ND 2”. Hence, this advancement is implemented by the school in order to adhere to the covid-19 measure and to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus among students. Also, only students with evidence 9f registration with passport photograph are expected to resume as specified for faculties/classes. Although the school sent a message acrossed days ago informing about prompt, early and due registration.

The school Public Relations Officer, Mr Soladoye Adewole also explained how the school have been preparing for resumption. He explained in a media chat that all necessary materials are being put in place while the population of lecture rooms have been reduced 30% alongside hostels which they have been arranged to new settings.

He also said that hand washing and sanitization materials have been placed at every entrance of the school and student must conform to the use of face mask because no student will be allowed to enter the school premises without the face mask
