In response to the recent invasion of the Oyo State Government secretariat by Yoruba Nation agitators, Chief Odegbola Ifalere, a prominent Ifa Priest in Ibadan, led a group of Babalawos in performing rituals aimed at warding off further disruptions.

A video circulating on social media captured Chief Odegbola chanting incantations and invoking curses against those responsible for the invasion of the Agodi secretariat. Other Ifa priests were seen consulting the oracle and offering ritual sacrifices, including goats, to restore stability to Seyi Makinde’s government and ensure the well-being of Ibadanland’s residents.

The invasion, led by self-proclaimed agitator Mrs. Onitiri Abiola, saw attempts to hoist the flag of the Oodua nation and overthrow Governor Seyi Makinde. Security forces intervened to restore order, resulting in casualties and arrests.

Governor Seyi Makinde, alongside indigenous and civic leaders, vehemently condemned the incursion. In the video, the priests denounced the agitators as enemies of Ibadan and warned of dire consequences for anyone disrupting the peace.

They asserted, “Any attempt to destabilize Seyi Makinde’s government will face repercussions. We reject the Yoruba Nation agenda and stand firmly behind the Governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
