The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully conducted its State Congress, culminating in the emergence of a new executive council to steer the affairs of the party across the state.
In a congratulatory message issued shortly after the exercise, Oyo State APC Chieftain, Oloye Lowo Obisesan, the Agbaakin Balogun Tile of Ibadanland, felicitated with the newly elected State Chairman, H.E. Moses Alake Adeyemo, and all other stakeholders who emerged victorious at the congress.
Obisesan described the congress as a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to reposition the party for greater unity, stability, and electoral success in Oyo State. He commended party leaders and delegates for ensuring a peaceful and transparent process, noting that the outcome reflects the collective will of party members.
At the congress, H.E. Moses Alake Adeyemo was elected as State Chairman, alongside other key officers including Dr. Taofeek Lamidi as Deputy Chairman; Barr. Fatai Adesina as Secretary; and Hon. Lukman Owonikoko as Assistant Secretary.
Also elected were Dr. Joshua Oyebamiji (Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman), Hon. Mojeed Delesolu (Oyo South Senatorial Chairman), and Hon. Tunde Oloyede (Oyo North Senatorial Chairman), among others.
Other members of the newly constituted executive include Barr. Aborisade Sunday (Legal Adviser), Hon. Saheed Adeagbo (Assistant Legal Adviser), Hon. Lateef Ajiboye (Treasurer), Hon. Saliu Dauda Adisa (Assistant Treasurer), Hon. Akanbi Tunde (Financial Secretary), and Hon. Wale Adebayo (Assistant Financial Secretary).
The Organising Secretary position went to Hon. Remi Adepoju, with Chief Jide Leke as Assistant Organising Secretary. Hon. Olawale Sadare emerged as Publicity Secretary, assisted by Fafunmi Mathew.
In addition, Kamaldeen Nageri was elected as Assistant Welfare Officer, Mrs. Tinuade Adigun as Auditor, and Hon. Christopher Idowu as Assistant Auditor. Mrs. Felicia Opatunde and Hon. Fatima Hassan emerged as Women Leader and Deputy Women Leader respectively.
Hon. Glory Olalekan was elected as Youth Leader, with Hon. Sayo Fatoki as Assistant Youth Leader, while Jimoh Osundare will represent the Physically Challenged constituency within the party structure.
The congress also produced senatorial and zonal leaders, including Olalekan Olowe (Oyo South Senatorial Youth Leader), Imran Ayinde Olona (Oyo North Senatorial Youth Leader), Mrs. Oyebode Yetunde (Oyo North Senatorial Women Leader), Mrs. Adefunke Adeoye (Oyo Central Senatorial Women Leader), and Mrs. Mojibade Adetona (Oyo South Senatorial Women Leader).
Ex-Officio members elected include Akanmu Adebowale, Ejalonibu Fatai Aremu, Asimiyu Kolawole, and Odeyemi Simon Oladoyinbo.
Oloye Lowo Obisesan urged the newly inaugurated executive members to prioritize unity, inclusiveness, and grassroots mobilization as they assume office. He expressed confidence in their capacity to reposition the party for future electoral victories, emphasizing that the success of the APC in Oyo State will depend largely on collective responsibility and steadfast commitment to the party’s ideals.
He concluded by calling on all party faithful to rally behind the new leadership in the overall interest of strengthening the APC and delivering impactful governance to the people.
