APC’s Emotional Outbursts Ring Hollow as Makinde Towers as Southwest’s Pride – GSM Advocates

The recent surge of emotions from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State seems to be more of a distraction than a constructive contribution to the state’s development. Amidst the noise, Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continues to solidify his position as a beacon of hope and progress in the Southwest region.

While APC’s antics may be geared towards gaining political mileage, they add little to no value to the lives of residents in Oyo State. Makinde’s administration, on the other hand, has been working tirelessly to drive growth, improve infrastructure, and empower citizens.

The Southwest region is proud to have a leader like Makinde, who prioritises people-centred governance and delivers results. His commitment to accountability, transparency, and empathy sets him apart from the noise-makers.

The people of Oyo State aren’t oblivious to the APC’s divisive tactics. Given their past policies, such as the biting tax law, trust is a significant issue. Adelabu’s ministerial role hasn’t alleviated power woes, and elected representatives struggle to demonstrate impact. With this track record, Oyo folks doubt APC’s 2027 plans. Can they really deliver?

The APC’s recent loss in Ibadan North Federal Constituency’s bye-election has sent shockwaves, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with the party’s performance. Oyo State residents, still reeling from the APC’s governance, see the defeat as a testament to the party’s disconnect from the people.

Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has made significant strides in Oyo State, focusing on education, healthcare, security, and agribusiness. Some of his notable achievements include signing the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Bill 2021 into law, establishing a Family Court, and launching initiatives to combat violence against women and children. He’s also invested in infrastructure, including the construction of modern bus terminals, the rehabilitation of roads, and the upgrading of sports facilities.

In education, Makinde has recruited 20,000 teachers, improved teacher welfare, and provided scholarships to students. His administration has also promoted agribusiness, with projects like the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub and the Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness Project (YEAP) training over 3,000 youths.

The previous APC administration in Oyo State failed to hold local government elections for years, but Governor Seyi Makinde has conducted two successful elections. Under his leadership, local governments have undertaken road rehabilitation and construction projects, and salaries have been paid promptly across all 33 local governments in Oyo State for over 6 years.

The public should know that the previous APC administration in Oyo State struggled to pay workers’ wages and pensioners’ benefits on time. In contrast, Governor Seyi Makinde has set a new standard, ensuring the timely payment of salaries and pensions to workers and retirees across the state.

Makinde’s efforts in infrastructure development include constructing modern bus terminals, rehabilitating roads, and upgrading sports facilities. He’s also established an emergency response system and procured new firefighting equipment.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s impactful governance has driven progress in Oyo State, touching lives across education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agribusiness. His focus on people-centred policies has yielded tangible results, from recruited teachers and scholarships to improved healthcare facilities and agribusiness initiatives.

Despite APC’s noise and distractions, Makinde’s administration remains committed to delivering results. The state’s wheel of progress keeps turning, driven by his vision and dedication. Oyo State residents see the difference, and development continues unabated.

As Oyo State moves forward, it’s clear that Makinde’s leadership is the real deal. The APC’s emotional outbursts will likely fade, but Makinde’s impact will endure.
