Yesterday, the member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives who is also an important stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi popularly known as Jagaban was present at the local government meeting of his party which held on Wednesday 10th January 2024.
This important meeting which had in attendance, leaders, relevant stakeholders and teeming members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan North was agog, with all party members present revelling in excitement at the presence of Hon. Olaide Akinremi, the well performing Federal Rep., of Ibadan North. This meeting held at the regular CAC Primary School Oke Apon, Oje-Igosun area of Total garden, Ibadan.
Defectors from Accord party and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who were led by Hon. Adewale Olatunji Murphy and Hon. Mrs Bolanle Agbaje respectively were received into the Ibadan North APC by Hon. Olaide Akinremi in the presence of state and local party leaders, with members celebrating the return of former colleagues and worthy party stalwarts.
Hon. Olaide Akinremi in his address thanked party members for always standing by him since 2019, he assured everyone that this second term of him being in office is loaded with more benefits for the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, and that very soon, these benefits will begin to materialize and reach all and sundry.
He encouraged party members to remain steadfast and prevent agents of disunity from confusing them. He then went ahead to receive the returning members back into the APC fold through official pronouncement, while assuring them that they are already welcomed, and that the party is home to them.
Among the leaders present was the State Women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaja Tinuade Adigun who warmly welcomed the defectors in her brief speech and admonished togetherness amongst all. Also, Hon. Gaphar Ojetola and Alhaji Kayode Adanla both encouraged the returning members to warm up to other members and join hands with them at the ward level to further solidify the party going forward. They also affirmed that the APC in Ibadan North has officially received all defecting members from Accord and PDP with this ceremony, as no other official welcoming will take place for those who refused to honor this selected date of welcoming from party stakeholders.
Other leaders present and who addressed party members include, Alhaja Tairat Adeyemi, Hon. Adedokun JP, Hon. Tosin Ayoade, Hon. Dele Ogunleye, Hon. Akeem Adebiyi, Alhaji Akibu Animashaun, Prince Gbadebo, Hon. Gafar Salaudeen alongside the Southwest Legal Adviser of the APC, Barr. Kolawole Majaro. All organs of the party in Ibadan North starting from the Local Government Executives led the Chairman Alhaji Taofeek Olayiwola, as well as all Ward Chairmen and relevant stakeholders were present to participate fully in the evening’s event.
Hon. Adewale Olatunji Murphy and Hon. Mrs Bolanle Agbaje both thanked Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban for receiving them into the party. They noted that they are happy to return to their home, and are ready to work collaboratively to move the party forward. Among the stakeholders who accompanied Hon. Wale Olatunji Murphy back into the APC were then Local Government Chairman of Accord party in Ibadan North Hon. Gabriel Oyedokun, the then State Youth leader of Accord party, the then Women leader of Accord party, the then accord party candidate for House of Assembly in Constituency 1 among others.
