The House of Representatives member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi popularly known as Jagaban has once again empowered his constituents through two different capacity building programmes which he facilitated for the benefit of his people.
The first which is a training and empowerment programme with the theme, “Skills Transfer on Fish Processing and Packaging Technologies for Women & Youth” held at the Prince Akinremi Jagaban Hall in Samonda Ibadan, and was concluded on Friday 16th December 2022. A total of one hundred participants were trained and empowered with equipment needed to ensure sustainability of their business in this regard.
Hon. Olaide Akinremi explained that his focus has largely hinged on ensuring his constituents are able to fend for themselves, and considering the current unemployment challenges facing many people, encouraging and facilitating capacity building programmes remains important to him.
He noted that he will continue to commit more effort and resources to his entrepreneurial development drive which had commenced before he secured the people’s mandate to represent Ibadan North at the National Assembly.
The second programme which is an empowerment programme for selected secondary schools within Ibadan North held at the NISLT Headquarters in Samonda Ibadan on Thursday 15th December 2022, and it witnessed the distribution of laboratory equipment, kits and computers to these schools to enhance effective teaching and practical demonstration in classes for maximum academic assimilation of students.
Hon. Olaide Akinremi who recently organized a workshop for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M) Teachers in 30 public secondary schools within his constituency, where he distributed science laboratory equipment to all 30 participating schools has continually contributed in no small means to the sustenance of public school’s education in Ibadan North and by extension, Oyo State.
With constructions of well furnished classrooms across different schools, to distribution of writing materials to pupils, to distribution of free JAMB/GCE/NECO-GCE forms, and scholarships to indigent students among other educational interventions, Prince Olaide Akinremi Jagaban has proven over time to his people that he is committed to the educational needs of their children.
This latest double training and empowerment programmes are set to greatly benefit the people, as the fish processing and packaging equipment given to beneficiaries will be of great entrepreneurial help to them, while the laboratory equipment and computers distributed to the schools will be of great assistance to the educational ambitions of students in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
