In the recent time, Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, has been fixing major part of deplorable roads, Bridges and other essential facilities in the state.
But barely two weeks, the Executive Governor forwarded the amendment of the Bill to reposition the School of Nursing and Midwifery to Oyo State House of Assembly in order to have full autonomy and be of international standard that will be governed by the Governing Council to Fastrack the accreditation of some courses, promotion of Staffs and bringing the needed facilities to the School to enhance effective learning by the students.
In another Development through our correspondence who visited the Oyo State School of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, the Health Stakeholders, The Management and Students who spoke on condition of anonymity, urged Governor Seyi Makinde to overhaul all other health institutions like College of Health Science & Technology, School of Advance Nursing and LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso in terms of Modern Equipments for training of students, training and re-training of their Lecturers, Conducive atmosphere for working condition, maintaining the facilities like Laboratories, Halls, Hostels and mobility for an effective Teaching-Learning-Process. And above all, inauguration of their regulatory bodies, like Governing Council, Monitoring Team and other essential things, so as to make our health institutions compete with others and to be of international standard.
As a result of this, the recent pandemic of Coronna Virus supposed to be a great lesson to all the Governments at all levels to reposition our health institutions and prepare our health personels that would be produced from these institutions as a qualified and competent hands for any future challenges.
