Customs Comptroller Visits Olubadan, Seeks Cooperation for Peaceful Working Environment

The new Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigerian Customs Service, Dr. Ben Oramalugo, paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun. During the visit, Comptroller Oramalugo emphasized the importance of cooperation and maintaining a peaceful working environment for his officers to effectively carry out their duties.

In his address, the Comptroller highlighted the core mandates of the Nigeria Customs Service, which include trade facilitation, revenue generation, and suppression of smuggling. He assured that he would uphold these values while executing his responsibilities.

In response, Oba Balogun expressed his commitment to further cooperation with the command and the Customs Service as a whole, emphasizing his open-door policy. The monarch also referred to past incidents between the Customs Service and the people of Ibadanland, stressing the need to completely eliminate conflicts between the officers and the residents.

Furthermore, Oba Balogun pledged to enhance collaboration to strengthen the existing relationship between the palace and the Customs Area Command.
