Four Northern Governors Visit Makinde, Set To Tour Shasha Market Today (Photos)

Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday night received four of his counterparts from the northern part of the country at the Agodi Government House, Ibadan.

The northern governors are Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Abubakar Bello (Niger) and Bello Matawalle (Zamfara).

They were led into a closed door meeting with Makinde immediately they arrived the Agodi Government House.

CorenewsNG reported that the meeting lasted about an hour.

The governors who later came out to take a group photograph after the meeting promised to address the press on Tuesday after the meeting might have been concluded.

According to findings, the visit of the Governors may not be unconnected to the spate of violence that has rocked the Shasha market, Akinyele local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the governors will, as part of activities for the visit to the state, tour the Shasha area to make an on-the-spot assessment to the market on Tuesday.

The governors are also billed to meet with various stakeholders from both ethnic groups involved in the crisis with a view to arriving at amicable resolutions.

Others present at the meeting are Special Adviser to the governor on Security, Mr Fatai Owoseni; Special Assistant to the governor on Community Relations (Arewa Community), Alhaji Ahmad Murtala; Serikis representing Hausa communities among other stakeholders.
