The Embattle Chairman of Ido local government Area Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has been suspended by the Council Legislator’s according to report by TODAY SPLASH.
Recall that Hon. Sheriff Adeojo was previously surmond by the Council Legislator’s over misconduct and Misappropriation of Funds.
According to the house resolution sighted by our source titled “RESOLUTION OF THE IDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL DURING THEIR SITTING HELD AT THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT HALL, IDO ON TUESDAY, 21ST SEPTEMBER, 2023”
Consequent upon the request made by the Honourable members of the Legislative council of Ido Local Government from the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo to present Income and Expenditure of the Local Government account since the plenary held in the month of June, 2023, and upon his lack of respect to the house by not presenting the income and expenditure and others therein, as requested for a period of 16 weeks, the Honourable members charged the chairman for lack of accountability and misconduct.
Based on the aforementioned, Hon. Sulaiman Ojo representing ward 02 moved the motion for the suspension of Hon. Sheriff Adeojo and seconded by Hon. Joseph Oyedele Omolade representing ward 09 then, the Leader of the House then threw the motion to the floor of the House.
After a lengthy deliberation, the house unanimously RESOLVED. “i. that the Hon. Sheiff Adeojo should be suspended indefinitely;
ii. that the Vice Chairman, Hon. Saka Fasola should hold forth the affairs of Ido Local Government with immediate effect”. iii. the Leader of the house, Hon. Abioye Tirimisiyu should hold forth at the Omi – Apata LCDA.
The following are the various allegations leveled against the suspended Chairman Ido Local government
1. OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT
a. Lack of regard for the Ido Legislative Arm of Government: the suspended Chairman is fond of disrespecting the member of the Ido Local Government Legislative House blatantly. He used to ignoring the resolution of the house. Examples are house resolution of income and expenditure of a council, summons to appear before the house.
b. None presentation of council budget to the house for approval after ministry confirmation of same financial estimate.
C. Abuse and harassment of civil servants of the local government: the suspended chairman is fond of harassing and abusing the civil servant of the council regardless
of their age or position thus making the local government to be avoided by many civil servants of Oyo state local government service commission by making life unbearable and the environment hostile to them. It is highly unheard of for a local government to have used three HLGAs, and four DAGS and seven directors of works within a space of two years.
2. FINANCIAL RECKLESSNESS:
The chairman is fond of spending the funds meant for the local government recklessly without following due process and this is unavoidably noticeable.
