Iwo Road Mayhem: Shop Owners Call For Sack of Auxiliary, Protest At Oyo Governor’s Office

Following the unrest that rocked the Iwo Road axis of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, on Wednesday, shop owners have called for the sack of the Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi (also known as Auxilliary) as the Chairman Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System.

The traders who did not mince words expressed dissatisfaction in the conduct and manner of operations of the PMS operatives during the visit to the governor’s office.

Responding, the governor assured the people that investigation has been launched into the incident and confirmed that, in the meantime, the government would sanitise the area behind Iwo Road where cultists congregate.

He equally promised to review the PMS and ensure that everyone

He added that those involved in the dastardly act would be brought to book while also assuring the government’s support to the affected phone sellers.

Makinde said, “I visited the scene of the Iwo Road incident this morning. The loss of lives during the mayhem that occurred is unfortunate and should never have happened. I give you my word that we will ensure that everyone involved in the dastardly act is brought to book.

“I have ordered investigations. In the meantime, we will sanitise the area behind Iwo Road where cultists assemble and review the Park Management System.

“We have also informed the phone sellers to choose representatives who will discuss how we can assist them.”
