Kidnapped Caretaker chairman of Iganna local council development area of Oyo State, Comrade Jacob Olayiwola Adeleke, and his driver have been released.

Their freedom came 6 days after they were abducted by Unknown gunmen on their way coming to ibadan according to reports

A council boss, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed their release.

Recall that Akéde Ọ̀yọ́ had reported how the council helmsman was kidnapped on Sunday night alongside his driver along Okeho-Ado Awaye on their way to Ibadan for a meeting scheduled with Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday.

Men of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, from the area and neighboring local government areas and LCDAs were deployed into the forests in search of them in the area.

Efforts made to contact the LG Chair prove abortive as calls put to his mobile phone where not reachable.

Since the police where not involved in this matter, this Newspaper is yet to confirm from major security agencies how the LG Boss was released.

Re call that this Newspaper reported that the abductors had reached out to families of the victims, demanding N200 million ransom, it’s still shady as of press time if the demands were met or it was rebuffed by the men of the vigilante group who were deployed in search of the kidnapped victims.

More Details soon…..
