In a show of solidarity with the people of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde joined labour protesters on Tuesday to highlight the worsening economic situation in the country.
Makinde expressed concern over the alarming levels of hardship and poverty, stating that many people are struggling to feed themselves and find employment.
The governor called on all parties and stakeholders to collaborate in finding lasting solutions to the economic crisis. He expressed optimism that with collective efforts, the situation can be improved.
Makinde emphasized that the economic challenges being faced are not limited to Oyo State alone but are prevalent nationwide. He urged the federal government to take immediate action to alleviate the suffering of the people and implement policies that promote economic growth and job creation.
