According to one of the leaders, “Deacon is a member of the famous G-13, he doubles as House Committee Chairman on Works and Transport. Before now, the leaders in Akinyele Constituency 11 had another candidate they had adopted to replace him but they decided to make a u-turn at the last minute. He is generous, humble and accessible. All his followers can attest to all these.” The source concluded.

However, in Constituency 1, the Chairman of Parliamentary Council, Hon Ayotunde Fatokun will not be returning to the assembly complex in the next dispensation as Lekan Abiola was elected to replace him. A woman leader from one of the wards in his constituency said, ” It is painful that one of our brightest was ganged up against over allegations he knew nothing about.

“That he is fighting with Governor Seyi Makinde, that he is not a member of G13 and that he has been causing unrest at the complex.

” All these allegations are not true. He is the best lawmaker Akinyele Constituency 1 has ever produced. He has done many empowerment programmes for us and the youths. He takes cares of the leaders. I wish him well in his future endeavours. This outcome is against our wish.” She concluded.

As at the time of filing this report, the two serving lawmakers are yet to speak on the outcome of the primaries.
