Oyo state will prosper more and witness an economic boom with state-wide Systematic Land Titling and Registration (SLTR) to facilitate large scale agriculture through improved ease of registering properties and consequently, ease of doing business.
This was the consensus opinion of experts at the 2022 Annual symposium of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) Oyo state chapter held recently at the NIS Plaza Ikolaba Ibadan.
The Annual symposium was a turbo charged event with the theme “Application of GIS in Agriculture” featuring three distinguished lecturers: Profassor Olajide Kufoniyi of OAU Ile Ife, Professor Babatunde Saheed Bada of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and Dr Samuel Ayodele Mesele of IITA, Ibadan.
In his lead paper, the renowned academic and foremost GIS expert, Professor Olajide Kufoniyi emphasized the application of GIS in this digital age as a pivot tool in achieving desired results in agriculture.
The expert appreciated the interest of Governor Seyi Makinde and Oyo state government in Agribusiness and also emphasized state-wide Systematic Land Titling and Registration(SLTR) to facilitate large scale agriculture through improved ease of registering properties and consequently, ease of doing business, increase in GDP of farmers and other citizens in the state.
