Our Lives Are In Danger, Ido PDP Local Excos/Delegates Cries Out, Calls For Party LG Chair Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba’s Suspension Over Threat To Life

Excos and delegates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido local government have frown at what they call threat to life by the party’s local government Chairman Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba.

They Allege that Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba at the National Delegates election held today the 10th of May rain curses on Excos and delegates, threatening everyone that may go against his wish, of voting for candidates of their choice with death threat.

Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba was quoted as saying “any Exco or Delegate that vote against Hon. Mabaje and Hon. Yemi Taiwo will die”.

Angered by the uttrances of the party local government Chairman Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba, Ward 1 chairman Mr. Akinsola Wasiu rebuff him in a heated argument that lasted for hours, Mr. Akinsola Wasiu Caution Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba to stop threatening delegates but rather engage them in a healthy discussion and convinced them, if they refused to do his biding, which they the delegates have the exclusive right to, it is call democracy, primaries are meant to produce the most popular and acceptable candidates in a free, fair and credible election, not by threat to life which is against the constitution that the Party operates, he added.

One of the Excos at the meeting speaking on condition of anonymity said “The whole thing happened at the presence of our overall party leader in Ido local government Mallam Yusuf, Hon. Isiaka Adeola, Alhaja Omolabake Olayiwola, the Commissioner for women affairs, Alhaji Issa Alabanla, Alhaji Bolaji Adeoye and many others, The Chairman Started by Stating categorically that there’s no other aspirants aside the duo of Hon. Mabaje and Hon. Yemi Taiwo for the state house of Assembly and Federal Constituency respectively.

Explaining further, he said “The former speaker, Hon. Tunji Adenekan and others immediately counter the chairman by responding that, there is an aspirant at ward 7, Engr. Femi Adegoroye who is also Contesting for House of reps ticket in IDO/IBARAPA East Federal Constituency.

Hon. Tunji Adenekan urge that the party chairman can not impose Yemi Taiwo on any of the delegates or excos by threatening them, that he should allow them to vote for any aspirant that they choose to vote for, adding that it’s the duty of Aspirants to canvers for Votes, noting that in a situation where we have two or more aspirants, it’s important for everyone to do their underground work, rather than publicly threatening them with their lives which he said is undemocratic and autocratic to go by in a democratic settings in PDP.

Adding that the Chairman Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba insisted and continue raining curses and threatening storm at the meeting that ended in rancor as a result of the chairman’s Ultrances.

The Concern Delegates Call on Party leaders, State Party Chairman and Excos to suspend Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba immediately for violating the People’s Democratic Party Code of Conduct, and investigate the matter to Caution any uproar that might arise during the schedule upcoming PDP State and National assembly’s Primaries.

They urge all aspirants to do their biding themselves, rather than using the back door, Adding that if anything happens to any Exco member, delegates on or before the scheduled date for primaries, The Ido local government PDP Party Chairman Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba will be held responsible, they promise to submit both the audio and video evidence of the chairman caught threatening the life of the Excos and delegates.

They equally call the security agency as a matter of urgency to arrest Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba before he carry out his threat, while urging the State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde to caution Party Chairmen, who have collected money from aspirants to stop forcing their will on the people, but rather allowing the people do their biding and making their Decisions as it suit their choice.
