In a recent development, the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps have taken decisive action by dismissing four operatives for alleged involvement in criminal activities.

The dismissal, which took place on May 2, 2024, at the State Headquarters in Moniya, Ibadan, was based on grounds of gross misconduct, specifically conspiracy with criminal elements to steal iron parts designated for the construction of a hotel. This decision was made in accordance with the law that establishes the agency.

The dismissed operatives, identified as Bello Ayokomi, Adedeji Faniyi, Sakiru Olatunji, and Gbenga Ademola, were originally assigned to the construction site in February 2024. However, they allegedly colluded with night guards to sell iron parts to dealers, contravening the agency’s code of conduct and compromising their position of trust.

The dismissal serves as a deterrent to other operatives with criminal intentions or acts within the agency. It also reaffirms the agency’s commitment to upholding integrity and accountability among its members. Furthermore, it underscores the agency’s pledge to the public to root out any individuals engaging in misconduct or criminal behavior.

Following their dismissal, the four operatives will be handed over to the police for prosecution. This decisive action sends a clear message that the agency will not tolerate any form of criminality among its ranks and will take appropriate measures to ensure that erring members face the full consequences of their actions.
