Oyo APC Holds Reconciliation Meeting At Fayemi’s Residence, Sets Up Elders Steering Committee

The gladiators in All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo state chapter have agreed to work together as one united family in the forthcoming general elections in the country’.

As they also agreed on the formation of an Elders Committee to serve in providing direction and leadership in a collegiate leadership arrangement where all leading members will have commitments while taking major decisions towards the repositioning of the Party in Oyo State.

These were parts of the resolution agreed upon on Sunday at the reconciliation meeting involving top members of Oyo state APC at the Jericho Ibadan residence of Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

The meeting which was in line with the ongoing reconciliation efforts of Oyo State APC was chaired by Goveenor Kayode Fayemi is said to be yielding fruitful results.

The meeting was well represented and all participants agreed that there are no more factions within the Party in the State.

Governor Fayemi reiterated the position of National Reconciliation Committee that the State Executive of the Party will not be dissolved now until a fresh State Congress is conducted.

He further stated that the provisions for Directorate in various capacities may be provided to support the work of the Executive but that new registration of members will be undertaken under the joint chairmanship of Governor Kayode Fayemi and Former Governor Otunba Alao Akala.

Members of the Elders Steering Committee approved at the meeting are; Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, Chairman of the Committee, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, Otunba Moses Alake, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, Pa Jolaoso, Chief Mrs. Yinka Adebayo, Senator Adeseun and Engr Idris Adeoye.

The Committee Secretary will be appointed later.

In attendance at the meeting were Governor of Ekiti State Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Former Governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala; Former Deputy Governor Iyiola Oladokun; Former Deputy Governor Chief Moses Alake; Former Minister of Communication; Barrister Bayo Shittu, Ayo Abass- Aleshinloye, Dr Fola Akinosun; Mr. Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, Senator Teslim Folarin.

Others include; Chief Akin Oke, Chief (Barr) Niyi Akintola SAN, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Hon Bimbo Kolade, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, Prince Gbade Lana, Prof Taoheed Adedoja, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Senator Soji Akanbi, Prof Adeolu Akande, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Sen. Fatai Buhari, Hon Akeem Adeyemi, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, Hon. Mojeed Olaiya, Alhaji Adanla.
