Oyo Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, Assumes Duty

Adebola Hamzat has assumed duty as Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, making him the 45th Compol in the state.

 

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, made this known in a statement made available to Journalists on Friday in Ibadan, the state’s capital

 

Hamzat took over from Adebowale Williams, who has been elevated to an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and deployed to head Zone 7, comprising the FCT and Niger State Police Commands.

 

Osifeso said that the new CP hails from Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State and enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

He described him as a thoroughbred professional, who has been in the force for more than three decades of exceptional resourceful policing experience.

 

Osifeso said the new Commissioner of Police, since enlistment into the force, had held and served at different command and staff positions.

 

He listed the commands and positions to include Officer in Charge, Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CIB), and Divisional Crime Officer, Funtua Police Divisional Headquarters, Katsina State.

 

According to him, Hamzat is a renowned investigator and intelligence aficionado.

He said that his operational experience and core intelligence competencies earned him duty tours based on strong commendations at the United Nations Missions in Kosovo (UNMIK) and United Nations Missions in Timor Leste (East Timor)
