Oyo Govt. Presents N180m Gratuity Cheque to 94 Retired Civil Servants

After about 9years of retirement from active services, total number of 94 retirees from the Teaching Service Commission and Judicial Service Commission were given 180million naira gratuity cheque by Oyo state government.

While presenting gratuity cheques, the Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Professor Daud Shangodoyin, stated that the state government has within 16 months, paid a total sum of N2.9 billion for about 1900 retirees.

Shangodoyin also hinted that the State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has constituted a committee to find a way through which the state government can clear the backlogged of gratuities owed to retired civil servants whose papers have been completed and submitted.

 
Speaking on behalf of the retirees, the assistant Secretary of National Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Chapter, Com. Banji Koleosho , appreciated the Governor for the timely disbursement adding that the Governor has been doing remarkably well in meeting the demands of the retirees
